IRS members conduct the 9th iteration of Informatics Olympiad internal training

In November 2023, our Competitive Programming Section and other past year NOI medallists conducted Informatics Olympiad training for 66 students from HCI (High School), HCI (Junior College), and NYGH. This was the 9th iteration of our annual November internal training course. Aimed at complete beginners, the course equipped students with the essential knowledge to excel in Informatics Olympiad competitions. They were exposed to a wide range of topics, delving into Greedy Algorithms, Dynamic Programming, and Graph Theory. We are glad to have received positive feedback from students, and hope to see you at our next iteration of November Course! Thank you to the school for supporting this training!

HCIRS has once again bagged several awards at the 23rd annual Singapore National Olympiad in Informatics 2020, achieving 2 golds and 3 silvers. Hwa Chong Students Improve on Performance in 20th National Olympiad in Informatics

For the 20th National Olympiad in Informatics, Hwa Chong has once again achieved excellent results! The team garnered a total of 5 Golds, 3 Silvers, 1 Bronze and 1 Honourable Mention. Furthermore, the team obtained the top secondary school award as well as the runner-up junior college award. Finally, two members of the team obtained the top secondary school contestants award. We would like to thank our seniors and teachers (Mr Koh Kim Tian & Ms Goh Keng Wah) for their continued support and guidance, and will strive to do even better in future editions! 19th Singapore National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI)

Hwa Chong racked quite a few awards at the 19th annual Singapore National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI). This year we continued our tradition of excellence taking home 10 medals ( 100% medal rate! ), 2 Golds 6 Silvers & 2 Bronzes. We also took home the runner up for best secondary school & the youngest medallist!
